What does Michigan all sports lake mean? The term "all sports lake" means that you can put jet ski's on the lake, that you can water ski, tube, wakeboard and power boat on the lake. It usually means you can make a wake. You can speed on the lake! A "limited all sports lake" means that the Michigan lake has some restrictions. It could be the boat size, the engine size, or even that jet skis are not allowed on the lake. There are very few "limited all sports lakes" in Southeastern Michigan. I enjoy doing that. If you don't feel like cooking you can take your friends up to the White Lake Inn for a meal . From the Chain of Lakes in Livingston County MI you can drop in Zukey Lake Tavern. So whether you are on Strawberry Lake, Base Line Lake, Big Portage Lake , Zukey Lake on Livingston County's Chain of Lakes you can pull the boat in and get a good meal and a cold beer without getting into the car. There are very few lakes that have a bar on them where you can do that. The other all sports lakes in Oakland County MI that I know of are Union Lake (Matter of Taste) and Walled Lake (Bayside Bar & Grill) that have restuarants to enjoy while boating. There are smaller private Oakland County all-sports lakes like Carroll Lake, Silver Lake, and Eagle Lake. These smaller private all sports lakes do not have the high volume of boat traffic that many of the large public all sports lakes have. There will be days that there won't be a boat on the lake. You can get out there almost any time of the day and have smooth water to ski on these smaller lakes. Of course on the weekends most Southeastern Michigan all sports lakes are busy whether they are big or small. Here are a few of the small Livingston County all sports lakes: Maxfield Lake, Clifford Lake, School Lake, and Pardee Lake. These are the types of lakes that really will have times of peace and quiet, but will allow you to pursue the watersports you love. Some of the large public all sports lakes will be extremely busy on the weekends. There most likely won't be smooth water between the hours of 11 - 4 during the weekends. You have to be more careful about the boat traffic around you on these lakes on the weekends. The boat traffic on these bigger public all sports lakes during the weekdays is lighter. Sometimes in the evenings these biggers lakes get busy too. But on these lakes you will have the room to jet ski to your hearts content. You have the room to manuever your boat and plenty of area to ski on.
